Mount Mary Church
It was built by Alfonso de Albuquerque after his victory over the Goan Muslim ruler Adil Shah in 1510. The chapel has been reconstructed twice and renovated in 2001.

Hilltop above the church is called Bairro Altos de Pilotos because large beacons used to be lit here to guide ships into the estuary before the light house.

Chapora Fort
The fort sits on a prominent position which commands views in all directions. It also has steep slopes on all sides. A natural valley to the beach protected by rocky promontories provides an excellent natural access to the sea.
