Located in the heavenly Ladakh, the quaint village of Stok is situated at the base of the Stok Range of the Himalayas. The village houses the Stok monastery which was built in the 14th century and was adorned by a 71 feet tall statue of Gautam Buddha in 2016. The 19th-century palace which used to be the residence of the royal family of Ladakh still stands proudly in the village and it now constitutes a museum that contains the shrine, crown, ceremonial dress, and jewellery of the Ladakhi king.
