Day 2

Doesn’t this look like a medieval movie set? If only she had a pahadi attire or a medieval dress to match with this set and this pic would have looked extra perfect. You can find this waterfall a little far away from the Naggar castle.

Day 2

You can sit in a nearby mini-water restaurant, take a mini-hike in the woods right next to it or just simply take a brief pause to recharge yourself. The people of Manali are super-duper friendly! All you have to do is ask them politely and they'll give you some pretty incredible insights of the region you want to explore. Example this is one Apple orchard from one of the many villages in Manali ! You gotta explore them all !

Visit Hadimba Devi Temple!

Hadimba Devi Temple

Day 2

This famous temple of Manali is an ancient cave temple built by Maharaja Bahadur Singh in 1553 dedicated to Hidimbi Devi, wife of Bhima, a figure in the Indian epic Mahābhārata. The temple is surrounded by cedar forest called Dhungiri Van Vihar at the foot of the Himālayas. The sanctuary is built over a huge rock jutting out of the ground which was worshipped as an image of the deity, goddess Hidimba.   The ancient old temple built in the middle of a cedar forest made purely from wood and stones, dim light, a single diya lighting the insides of the temple and Devi’s face glowing from the light of that Diya.   When I was visiting this temple, due to the rains, I had the temple completely to myself, so I took a Parikrama (holy round of the deity) and saw the minute details of the temple, so many sticks and logs, small and big stones to fill the gaps, dried pipal leaves tied in a beautiful pattern, some other natural herbs and the structure of the wall, and oh boy was I mesmerised; like totally!

Visit any local Village - Naggar for me.

Day 2

Just imagine the same view 100 years ago with 1 or 2 homes nearby the castle, and more trees, that must have been the view of Raja Sidh Singh! and not to forget more wildlife, more cold and no Netflix. Naggar Castle is a must-must-must visit to see the Pahadi-Royalty! There's also a small-cafe by the castle where you can indulge to savour some piping hot-tea.
